How you’ll make a difference

The Financial Crime Lead – CCO (Risk Partner) plays a pivotal role in ensuring Economic Crime (EC) risks are effectively understood, managed and controlled across the Chief Customer Office. Acting as a financial‑crime specialist, the role provides authoritative first‑line guidance, constructive challenge and delivery leadership across AML/CTF, Sanctions and Anti‑Bribery & Corruption risk categories.

Operating with minimal direction, the role leads complex EC‑related activity end‑to‑end, embedding regulatory and policy requirements into customer journeys, products, processes and digital design. By influencing senior stakeholders and acting as a trusted interface with Financial Crime, the MLRO team and senior leaders, the role ensures EC risks are designed in, evidenced and operating effectively.

A strong role holder will make a significant difference by driving delivery momentum, providing clear risk insight, coordinating CCO contributions to bank‑wide assessments, and ensuring issues are addressed promptly, with appropriate escalation and strong follow‑through.

What you’ll bring

  • Deep expertise across Economic Crime risk areas (AML/CTF, Sanctions and ABC), providing authoritative first‑line guidance, challenge and delivery leadership within CCO.
  • Proven ability to operate independently, leading complex financial‑crime activity end‑to‑end while maintaining momentum and effective escalation.
  • Strong stakeholder influence skills, providing expert risk‑based insight and constructive challenge to senior leaders and decision‑makers.
  • Experience embedding EC requirements into customer journeys, products, processes and digital design, ensuring controls are effective and evidenced.
  • Demonstrated capability managing financial‑crime MI, KRIs and KPIs, delivering clear insight and driving corrective actions to completion.
  • Experience coordinating bank‑wide and CCO‑level risk activity, including BWRA, CRA delivery and regulatory change impacts.
  • Strong governance and control oversight, addressing audit, QC, supplier and intermediary risk findings and ensuring remediation is delivered.
  • Ability to act as a trusted interface with Financial Crime and the MLRO, providing expert recommendations, supporting escalations and ensuring effective collaboration
